“Split Second” Graphic Novel
Split Second is a graphic novel written by youth. It follows a group of friends dealing with fentanyl risks, overdose, and recovery. It helps students understand real-life situations in a safe, age-appropriate way.
TOPS works with Texas schools to provide a full program that helps prevent opioid misuse and suicide. This includes lessons, support resources, parent involvement, and program tracking.
The program is structured and age-appropriate, and is designed to align with state and national standards, including Tucker’s Law, TEKS, and NHES. Its goal goes beyond simply raising awareness by helping students build practical life skills, make healthy and informed decisions, and understand where to find trusted support and resources when needed.
The Texas A&M Prevention Curriculum is a flexible 6-lesson program for students in grades 6-12, with versions for younger students (K-5) in development.

Trust Hustle is a video game that helps students practice making good choices. It uses interactive scenarios to teach how to handle peer pressure. The game helps students keep learning outside the classroom.
TOPS offers education & awareness for adults & youth that explain fentanyl and synthetic illegal drug risks, fake pills, warning signs of an overdose, and how to use naloxone to reverse an overdose. These sessions help families to keep youth in the community safe.
All TOPS programs are evaluated to make sure they are effective and continue to improve. This includes school-based programs, community events, services, and resources.
TOPS uses tools to track how programs are used, how well they are delivered, and what results they have. Schools and partners receive support to get started, along with guidance and tools to strengthen programs over time.
